This
website is dedicated to my friend, Groucho, who served in the
Vietnam war in 1968.
He was
fortunate enough to come back in one piece physically, unlike
many others. But mentally, like many others, he took a long time
to re-adjust to the normal day to day life. And what about the
men that didn't come back at all?!
Now he's
written a few poems about his experiences and thoughts of that time.

If you would
like to send a message to Groucho, I will make sure he gets it. (He
has no computer or access to the internet)
A poem by
BriteSTR: This yank was
there 68-69. I did a whole year, it sure wasn't fine. I'd seen
many brothers as they came and they went. some lively, some
dead, some twisted and bent. I watched as my brothers got the
1000 yard stare. In less than a year of being over there. We
lived in the dark, the bush and the brush. coming home to our
country we still cannot trust. VN bonuses I got they said they
were free. I came home with PTSD and a dose of HEP C.....

If anyone would
like to add his experience in a poem of that war on this site, send me an
email and I'll add it.

A request from
a Vietnam Vet below:
Hi My name
is Reg Meffert, a Vietnam Vet in Adelaide ( Australia)
Shortly after I
had done the PTSD course I have been writing songs of my
memories in country format. I am in the process of recording an EP
at the moment. I wanted to help other vets and educate the
many others that still do not understand what has happened to
us.
I do want to visit
the States after I release the CD as soon as possible. I want to find
out if there is an organisation that can billet out for a
visit, as a TPI it would keep my cost down. At the
moment my page is http://www.geocities.com/nashville/stage/8838
but this may change after the release.
Please keep in
touch thank you Reg Meffert
