Using the Balls & Bubbles Effect

I used Paintshop Pro 9, but can also be done in 8 or PSPX

Gradients Here

Open a new image 500x500

Set your foreground to a gradient or use mine

Flood fill your image

(If you use a background or photo, open it and follow it from below)

Add a new raster layer

Go to effects - artistic - balls and bubbles

Set your magic wand with these settings....

Click inside the ball until it's all enclosed in one with no other ants showing
With the ants still going, go to your layer palette and click on raster 1

Go to selections.....invert.....and then hit the delete key
Select None

Merge Visible

Go to Image....resize....75%....all layers unchecked!

New Raster Layer...

Set your foreground to a gold gradient or use mine
Set your background to nul

Set your preset shape tool to ellipse with these settings....

Draw a little circle above the ball

Go to Effects....3D effects.....Inner Bevel with these settings.....

Place on top of the ball

With your Smudge tool set to these settings....

paint downwards on the bottom of your gold ring, so it looks like it's molded unto your ball..

And that's it!

Of course instead of a gradient you can use a background or a picture
Just open your picture or photo and follow the instructions above

Or instead you can use your ball as a snowglobe :-)

Hope you found this tutorial useful and had fun :-)
